Paprec Claims First-Ever 52 SUPER SERIES Win at the Marina Rubicón Lanzarote 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week

True Blue: Paprec Break Through in Lanzarote

Seventeen years in the making. Jean-Luc Petithuguenin’s Paprec finally landed their first-ever 52 SUPER SERIES win at Marina Rubicón Lanzarote — and they did it the hard way, in breeze and under pressure.

Sitting third going into the final race, Paprec sailed clean while the fleet around them cracked. A penalty dropped Sled out of contention, Alkedo Vitamina fought back from an early start but couldn’t close the gap, and Paprec crossed the line two points clear for the overall win.

For an emotional Petithuguenin, whose crew includes longtime teammate Stephane Névé, it was the payoff for nearly two decades of trying. Alkedo Vitamina took second, their best result of the season, while series leaders Sled watched their commanding lead shrink after a costly day of penalties. 52superseries
