Kiel Week 2025: Where World-Class Sailing Meets Summer in the City

Once again this year, CHIMBOVISION proudly provided live coverage of the sailing competitions at Kiel Week 2025, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious sailing events. In addition, we produced a series of highlight filmscapturing the excitement, skill, and energy of this iconic festival for the city of Kiel.

Kiel Week 2025 took place from June 21 to June 29, centered at the Olympiazentrum Schilksee and across the waters of the Kieler Förde. Over 4,000 sailors from more than 60 nations competed in a wide range of classes, from Olympic boats like the ILCA 6, ILCA 7, 49er, and iQFOiL, to international and youth classes, including the first-ever official Wingfoil competition. In total, more than 1,500 boats took to the water, competing in over 350 races across 14 regatta courses.

The week’s sailing events were not just about competition—they celebrated innovation, inclusion, and sustainability. The organizers emphasized renewable energy, reduced waste, and accessible sailing opportunities for people with disabilities. Fans on shore and online witnessed incredible displays of skill, from thrilling upwind battles to high-speed foiling action.

CHIMBOVISION’s live broadcasts and highlight films brought this action directly to audiences worldwide, showcasing not only the regattas but also the vibrant atmosphere of Kiel Week: the bustling regatta village, cheering crowds, and the stunning backdrop of the Baltic Sea. By documenting both the athletic achievements and the cultural spirit of the event, our coverage captured the essence of Kiel Week as both a sporting and social highlight of the summer.

With each year, Kiel Week proves to be more than just a regatta—it’s a festival of sailing, culture, and community. CHIMBOVISION is proud to bring these unforgettable moments to life for both local and international audiences.
